Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This policy explains how I collect, use and look after your personal information when you visit therebel.biz, get in touch or work with me. I keep it in plain English because that is how I do everything.

Who I am

This website is run by Caroline J Andrew, trading as The ReBeL. I am a sole trader based in the UK and I am the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. That means I decide how your information is used and I am responsible for looking after it.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email me at caroline@therebel.biz.

What information I collect

Information you give me

  • Your name, email address and any other details you include when you email me or fill in a contact or enquiry form on this site.
  • Details you share when you book a chat, book me to speak or become a client, such as your business name, phone number and what you need help with.
  • Billing details, such as your name, business address and payment records, if you buy services from me.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you visit. My web host records some of this in server logs to keep the site running and secure.
  • If you agree to analytics cookies, information about how you use the site, collected by Google Analytics. See my Cookie Policy for the details.

I do not collect any special category data (such as health information) through this website, and the site is not aimed at children under 13.

How I use your information and my lawful basis

UK data protection law says I must have a lawful basis for using your information. Here is what I use it for and why:

  • To reply to your enquiries. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (you have asked me something and I want to answer), or steps you have asked me to take before entering into a contract.
  • To deliver coaching, talks and other services. Lawful basis: contract.
  • To keep financial and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  • To understand how people use the site and improve it. Lawful basis: consent, which you give through the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time.
  • To keep the website secure and stop spam and bots. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
  • To send you news or marketing emails, but only if you have signed up for them. Lawful basis: consent. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.

Who I share your information with

I never sell your information. I only share it with trusted providers who help me run the business, and only as much as they need:

  • KDA Web Services, who host this website.
  • Google, which provides Google Analytics (only if you consent) and the web fonts used on this site. When your browser loads the fonts, Google receives your IP address.
  • My email and IT providers, who store messages you send me.
  • My accountant and HMRC, where needed for tax and legal reasons.
  • Anyone I am legally required to share information with, such as the police or a court.

If you buy F*ck the Norm through Amazon, Green Cat Books or another retailer, that retailer handles your order and your personal information under its own privacy policy. I do not receive your payment details.

International transfers

Some of my providers, including Google, may process information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where this happens, I make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long I keep your information

  • General enquiries that do not lead to any work: up to 2 years after we were last in touch.
  • Client and financial records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as HMRC requires.
  • Google Analytics data: 14 months.
  • Marketing email lists: until you unsubscribe.

After that, I securely delete it.

How I keep your information safe

I use secure, password-protected systems, keep the website and its software up to date, and use providers with good security standards. No system is completely risk-free, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
  • ask me to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask me to delete your information
  • ask me to limit how I use your information
  • object to me using your information where I rely on legitimate interests
  • ask me to send your information to you or another organisation in a usable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where I rely on consent

To use any of these rights, email caroline@therebel.biz. There is no charge, and I will reply within one month.

Making a complaint

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Links to other websites

This site links to other websites, such as 4Networking, Amazon and Green Cat Books. I am not responsible for how they handle your information, so please check their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time, for example when I add new tools to the site. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
